Douglas L. Brennan – Chief Executive Officer
Douglas Brennan is the Founder of Aviation Finance Company Limited where he serves as its Chief Executive and Chairman of the Board of Directors. Previously he was Chief Investment Officer of Ledyard Capital Management, an US based shipping investor and previously, the Managing Director of Tiller Management Group LLC, a private equity investor and advisory company focused on logistics, energy and transportation. Doug founded and served as CEO of Illington Fund Management, a $1.8 billion investment management company, sold to a German banking concern in 2006 where he served as Vice-Chairman until 2008. He held investment management positions at Richland Capital Management and HWB Capital Management (Luxembourg). He began his financial services career developing quantitative investment strategies at Lloyd Stevens & Co. following a behavioral science and research career at Columbia University and Intersystems. Doug is a Board Member of Westchester Medical Center Foundation and donates pilot services to medical transport charities. Doug received two Master’s degrees from Columbia University and a Bachelor of Arts from Columbia College.
Christian G. Schultheiss – Chief Operating Officer / Financial Officer
Chris joins Aviation Finance Company with over 25 years of financial and operational experience as the firm’s Chief Operating and Financial Officer. Previously he was a Managing Director and CAO at Oppenheimer Asset Management, a $20 billion wealth management platform. Chris was also a Senior Manager with Arthur Andersen’s business consulting practice serving as a senior advisor to clients on operational and technology related engagements in the financial services industry. Chris began his career with Arthur Andersen as an auditor. He received his Certified Public Accountant certificate from the State of New York and holds a bachelor of science in accounting from St. John’s University.
Ed Hansom – Chief Investment Officer
Ed Hansom is Guardian’s Chief Investment Officer. From 2002 he has worked as an independent aircraft finance consultant specializing in business strategy, capital markets and risk management. From 1988 to 2002 he worked for GPA Group (subsequently AerFi), from 1997 as Chief Financial Officer. His achievements at GPA included leadership roles in the development of the Japanese Operating Lease market and the Aircraft Asset-Backed Securities market. He also played a key role in the restructuring of GPA, including the acquisition of Indigo Aviation and ultimate sale of the business to debis airFinance. Prior to 1988 Edward worked in London and Paris for Bank of Nova Scotia and Schroders. Ed received Masters degrees from Magdalen College, Oxford (Modern Languages) and the Manchester Business School.
Louis V. Nardi – Senior Managing Director – Credit
Lou heads up AFC’s credit and research teams where he is responsible for providing investment guidance to AFC and to our investors with respect to our investment and lending activity with our clients. His team is responsible for maintaining the most current financial information on airlines, the airline industry and the impact of the wider global economy on our business. He has over three decades of experience in the finance sector. Prior to AFC, he was Managing Director with Global Hunter Securities where he focused on High Yield Research. Historically, he held senior positions with BMO Capital Markets, Credit Lyonnais Securities, Nomura Securities and Bear Stearns. Lou holds a bachelor of arts in economics from Rutgers University and a Master of Business Administration in finance from New York University.
Nancy Wilson Brothers – Senior Managing Director
Nancy Wilson Brothers is a Senior Managing Director at Aviation Finance Corporation. Prior to joining AFC, Nancy spent 10 years in Credit Sales at Citigroup in sales and trading where she worked on debt financings for Air Canada, Aircastle and Fly Leasing, among others. Prior to joining Citigroup, Nancy held similar roles at Morgan Stanley and Merrill Lynch. She was a former Limited Partner at Oppenheimer & Co., Inc. Nancy also worked in Private Placements and the establishment of the Loan Product at Lehman Brothers.
Nancy was a founding member and former Board Member of the Loan Syndication and Trading Association. Before starting her career on Wall Street, Nancy graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from the Maxwell School of Citizenship at Syracuse University in Syracuse, New York.
Finnian O’Neill – Managing Director – Investment Banking
Finnian joins AFC investment banking team and is responsible for structuring capital market transactions for our clients. He previously held the role of senior investment consultant with Towers Watson in London whom he joined in 2005. He was the lead risk management adviser to a number of UK pension funds ranging in size from £250m to over £10bn. His area of specialism was in interest rate, inflation and credit risk management where he provided advice to clients on structuring and execution of fixed income and derivative-based hedging strategies. Finnian has a degree in Actuarial and Financial Studies from University College Dublin. He is a member of the Institute of Actuaries and a CFA charterholder.
